De AFTERMATH CONSULTS is a reputable Human Resources and Information Technology consultancy firm birthed with the tenets of delivering exceptional and well-coordinated human resources services while backing it up with modern technological tools for optimal performance to numerous clients around the world.
They exist to instill viable Management, Safety, ICT and Business skills to their numerous clients which has earned them recognition within and outside Nigeria from notable establishments.
They grew from an ICT firm to a leader in human resource and business development expert earning them partnership with notable bodies and institutions such as Gusto Oil and Gas, Dubai, Chartered Institute of Marine, Port and Terminal Management Professionals, USA, Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), among others.
The former website of De Aftermath Consults was a one-page site. The site did not portray the image of the firm as it had a lot of challenges which includes;
- Poor interface design,
- Poor user experience,
- Slow load time
- Not mobile friendly
- Not responsive nor scalable.
- There is no option of managing content on the website.
The Director discussed these concerns with us and asked that we get the firm a befitting website. As some of us are part of the firm's team, the Director said he trust in our judgement to get the best and he is cool with whatever idea and concept we intend to explore.
WHAT WE DID
We started by exploring the firm's culture and attributes, the way they present themselves and how they are perceived by their clients and the public. Thorough keyword research in the industry and research on competitors were made to give them a competitive advantage. We bring out the services they provide and look at the major things that a website can help facilitate with ease and will have a great impact to the firm like good Return on Investment (ROI).
Before starting the design of the interface, we built user personas of the people that will use or visit the site, exploring their level of education and familiarity with technology, reasons for visiting the site and the actions they will intend to take. This activity provided us with the understanding of the features we should incorporate and how the interface should look like to give users pleasing experience.
We then dive into preparing paper wireframe of the pages, highlighting major actions that can be taken and the key features of the site as discovered during the user persona building process. Our concept of the site is to be professional, simple to navigate and responsive on all devices and platforms.
FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY
The UI of the site is design with utmost simplicity and clear call to actions (CTA) to task that a user might want to complete on the site. The colours and buttons used are consistent with legibly and modern typeface. The site makes information finding easy like;
- The homepage having slideshows describing the firm services, the about, management team and lot more.
- Clearly present the services the firm renders.
- Showcase their course catalog. The courses have rich description and the option to check out the tutor(s).
- Ability for students to be able to register for a course on the website.
- The team section to showcase the brains behind the firms' achievement and quality services.
- The contact page with Google map integrated to allow students locate the office for training and lastly,
- A blog to publish valuable articles on topics relating to the firm activities.
- The copy of the site is written by our content team making it easy to implement the website concept and design system.
Despite the fact that site is not built using a CMS, the admin dashboard is designed and developed in a way to allow for easy management of major content and features. The admin is able to add/edit courses, update the team members and tutors of each course, add/edit frequently asked questions (FAQs) and also update the gallery and the blog section without needing any programming skills or experience.
We perform thorough testing on various browsers and devices to be sure that it is responsive and performs well across all platforms. As the director was satisfied with work done, we deployed the site to their domain and index the site for proper SEO reach.
